Account Manager

As an Account Manager, you’ll understand commercial drivers and value based selling, being able to articulate Datel’s values to existing and target customers, while following our policies, procedures and business ethics codes to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.

You’ll be inspired by our brand and our belief in people, and share our attitude towards customer service. You’ll be working in a busy environment that requires consistency, flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure.

With the support of successful marketing and service delivery teams, you’ll enjoy being proactive in winning medium and large sized opportunities.

You’ll manage a portfolio of existing accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships to gain an understanding of clients' businesses and their needs; using consultative selling techniques to maximise opportunities to sell and promote Datel’s products and services, all the while ensuring excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Own your account base to maximise revenue spend per account to ensure targets are exceeded through proactive contact
  • Maintain regular contact with accounts, presenting a professional, friendly and knowledgeable face to clients
  • Prepare effectively for and ensure appropriate follow up from customer meetings
  • Identify and understand the business drivers of a client’s requirements to confidently propose solutions
  • Utilise the pre-sales resource and ensure demos are carried out effectively, ensuring the resource is engaged effectively and used to maximum benefit to achieve sales numbers and set customer expectations
  • Work in partnership with the client to ensure repeat business is gained and expectations managed
  • Manage the client relationship ensuring expectations are appropriately set and a first class level of customer service is maintained at all times
  • Generate an interest for our products and services, selling features and benefits with conviction
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, maintaining and updating administrative systems to ensure all information is accurate and up to date
  • Update and report to the team manager, including forecasts, pipeline activity and orders as required
  • Ongoing pipeline management to develop a sustainable pipeline to ensure margin targets are consistently achieved
  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer contact towards achieving target
  • Collaborate with internal resources or subject matter experts to assist in sales process
  • Proactively look to improve our service to customers by being sensitive to their business needs
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services
  • Build, maintain and capitalise on effective working relationships with relevant people within Datel, at all levels
  • Maintain an appropriate awareness of and work effectively within the policies and procedures of Datel
  • Ensure that all administrative work is kept up to date.

The candidate

Experience

  • Two years’ experience in selling Finance / ERP solutions in either a New Business or Account Management environment
  • Ability to understand client issues
  • Ability to identify, qualify and develop new opportunities
  • Some experience of solution selling and business processes.

Additional Information

  • Office hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with an hour’s unpaid lunch break each day. This equates to 37.5 hours per week
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • You’ll be client facing, self-motivated, flexible and happy to travel to client sites throughout the UK.
