Project Manager (Graduate)

Project Management at Datel is about taking real responsibility and being accountable for ensuring that we deliver on our customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the right quality.  It’s a fundamental area of our business, responsible for coordinating the delivery of services, product and support provisioning into all our new and existing customers through effective project methodologies, and acting as the conduit between our Sales, operational delivery teams and the client.

So you’ll soon find yourself undertaking a wide variety of tasks, for example, controlling budgets and expenditure, covering the governance of change within projects, resourcing, fulfilling contractual requirements and interfacing with our customers.  You'll also review performance, analyse risks and take decisions to optimise project success.

You’ll start off working with our Project Administrators and Project Co-ordinators, to introduce you to the fundamentals of project management at Datel and our internal processes.

Along the way, you will gain an understanding of project management lifecycles, processes and methodologies, and be encouraged to study for certification by the Association of Project Management (APM).  This will stretch both your business and technical aptitude to the full.  In return, we will expect you to develop expertise in all aspects of risk, issue and document management, financial control and planning, and to take full responsibility for the delivery of projects.

In terms of personal qualities, you’ll need to have an analytical mind and a highly methodical approach to your work.  A confident communicator, you’ll also know how to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and have the drive and determination to see a variety of tasks through to completion.
