Godfrey Syrett Ltd, a supplier of furniture solutions to commercial, private and public organisations in the UK, is to implement Sage X3 from Sage Business Partner Datel to help the business reach its growth goals.
Formed in 1947, Godfrey Syrett currently boasts a turnover of around £26.5million, and has strong growth goals with a view to reach £50 million turnover by 2020. One of the most integral actions in achieving the goal was identified by the business as a review of its current business management system.
Godfrey Syrett has been using Sage 1000 as their back-office business application for the last seven years. Ross Teeley, Health, Safety and Process Improvement Manager at Godfrey Syrett, said: “In 2016, our new Executive Chairman, Mark Dixon, and the senior management team identified that the company was in need of a modern ERP solution which would be able to provide the business with accurate data, in a timely manner, to the right people.”
It was also important that the new solution was configurable and flexible enough to meet Godfrey Syrett’s current and future needs; capable of supporting the business’ expected growth in coming years.
After assessing several ERP providers and through a careful appraisal process, the company decided that Sage X3 best met their requirements.
Talking about the company’s initial experiences with Sage X3, Ross says: “The more time we spent with Sage’s business partner, Datel, and their consultants, the more confident we were that Sage X3 was the right solution for the business.
“The key benefit of Sage X3 is the user interface, which should cut down training time when we get around to that stage. It’s a very modern system and will allow key people in the business to access real time data on any device with an internet connection and a browser, so our senior managers can make quicker and more responsive decisions.
“Plus, with access to Datel’s R&D department, we will have the opportunity to implement add-on products which could enhance Sage X3.”
Summarising the business’ decision to work with Datel, Ross concludes: “We attended Sage Summit this year to find out more about Sage and the ERP industry in general, and received positive feedback about Datel. This gave us even further reassurance that we’ve chosen the right provider to implement Sage X3.”
Andrew Pritchard, Sales Director at Datel, comments: “We are delighted that Godfrey Syrett decided to choose Datel to help them take the next steps in their growth journey. Sage X3 is a particularly feature-rich and flexible ERP solution, which will allow the business to streamline, continue to grow and meet their turnover goals – without being held back by a restrictive business system. We’re looking forward to progressing the project and seeing how the business benefits from their new ERP solution.”
