Project Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the services team with the objective of working with clients, to understand their business drivers, objectives and benefits to be achieved and to work with the customer to produce an effective plan to achieve them. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of projects through the full project life cycle to ensure that the required deliverable is delivered on time to the defined quality and within the agreed budget as per the Datel project methodology 
     
  • Proactively manage project scope to ensure that all work is agreed up front and is budgeted for
     
  • Identify, assess, record and manage project risks and issues for discussion and management to completion with the customer
     
  • Manage, track all consultancy and project management time spent on a project
     
  • Accurately invoice the customer for all project related costs on a weekly, monthly or ad-hoc basis
     
  • Build, maintain and capitalise on effective working relationships with relevant people within Datel, at all levels
     
  • Use relevant systems and ensure up to date accurate information is centrally held
     
  • Proactively look to improve our service to customers by being sensitive to their business needs
     
  • Continuously improve project knowledge feeding back into the project management team, suggesting new ways of working to the benefit of Datel and its customers
     
  • Maintain an appropriate awareness of and work effectively within the policies and procedures of Datel
     

The Candidate

Experience:

  • A Business or IT degree/qualification or demonstrate strong finance and accounting literacy 
     
  • Minimum of three years IT project management experience in a VAR environment
     
  • A demonstrable commitment to delivering projects to scope, on time and to budget, including own time, achieving customer benefits and ROI
     
  • Experience in co-ordinating or managing multi-disciplinary teams covering a range of technical, operational and business skills 
     
  • Experience in revenue management rather than the usual cost management concepts of project management
     
  • Experience in co-ordinating or managing multiple projects (circa 30 concurrent), post business case, to completion and handover to support
     
  • A structured and methodical approach to problem solving 
     
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to work with people at all levels and in all areas of the business 
     
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 
     
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop relationships at all levels 
     
  • Experience of Change Management process 
     
  • Three years’ experience of operating in a client facing role 
     
  • Experience of managing and setting customer expectations 
     
  • Working knowledge of Excel and pivot tables 
     
  • Knowledge of ERP/Finance systems, preferably Sage 200Cloud, Sage 1000, Sage Line 500 and Sage X3 Enterprise Management

Additional Information:

Full UK Driving License - As clients are at various locations throughout the UK, this may necessitate periods staying away from home during the working week and on occasions, weekend travel. 

Office hours are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday with an hour long lunch break (unpaid) each day. This equates to 37.5 hours per week.
