First, tell us a bit about you and your background.
I’ve worked for various Sage Business Partners for twelve years now; three of which I’ve spent at Datel. Sales has been the key theme throughout my career and it has remained a keen interest of mine, with presentations, interpersonal skills, organisational skills and planning being my core strengths.
What made you decide to apply for the role at Datel?
Having worked in the Sage partner network for some time, I joined Datel three years ago as part of an acquisition by Datel of another partner’s Sage business. The transition to Datel was an easy one, and in the last three years I have happily adapted to the systems and processes that have clearly worked well for Datel.
What does a typical day at Datel involve for you now?
My main responsibilities day-to-day include attending and organising meetings, follow-ups with prospects, presentations, and preparing for the next steps. I always ensure that the sales process is being progressed well and with committed timelines.
What is the day-to-day working environment like?
I have very good support from my manager and the internal outbound sales team – definitely the best I have come across. Team spirit is a key part of making the job more enjoyable and thereby successful, and I have this in droves at Datel.
What do you enjoy most about working at Datel?
My relationship with colleagues is key, and this makes the tasks I have to complete more achievable.
