Business Engagement Consultant

Business Engagement Consultant

What you'll do

You’ll be part of a highly successful and respected lead generation team, with responsibility for your own target and helping drive the team towards the business target.  You’ll be focused on generating new opportunities and nurturing and then qualifying pipeline to the point where businesses are ready to engage with a salesperson to discuss their business management software.

Although traditionally this was a telephone-based role, there has been a positive move to a much wider approach which includes a focus on social selling, relationship management, event attendance and nurturing of inbound enquiries.  As such you’ll be working very closely with the marketing team to ensure that the results from campaigns and marketing activities are dealt with promptly and every opportunity for pipeline generation is explored thoroughly.

As you settle into the role the focus of your days will be sourcing opportunities and building a pipeline of companies that will be looking to review their ERP software.

What to bring

We’re looking for someone with a natural ability to sell and build rapport with people at all levels across multiple channels, from over the phone, email and online to face to face at events. You’ll have a confident and enthusiastic personality and be a positive influence on the team.

Having previously worked in a B2B sales or business development role, experience of nurturing pipeline through a long sales cycle would be a distinct advantage.  Any wider business knowledge which will give you the context to confidently discuss different functions within an organisation would be very useful for this role.

The real qualities we are looking for in the successful applicant are grit, tenacity and a determination to succeed as well as an eagerness to learn and develop as a sales professional. Patience and perseverance will be needed to deal with sometimes long and complex sales cycles but rewards can be great for a successful candidate.

What we offer in return

We offer a supportive environment that enables you to succeed.  Team members, the Senior Business Engagement Consultant and the Business Engagement Manager are all involved in helping you get up to speed as quickly as possible so you can start to achieve real results.

Ongoing training will be provided on our product portfolio as well as a focus on continuous development of sales skills throughout your career with Datel.

As a Business Engagement Consultant, you’re invited to sales team events such as offsite meetings and training and you have the opportunity to earn your place on the annual overseas incentive trip.

The atmosphere and culture of the team is designed to help you achieve. Success in the role is rewarded with an uncapped bonus as well as a commission plan and individual and team rewards.
