We are looking for someone who can lead the team of Business Engagement Consultants, driving performance and maintaining high quality lead generation for Datel.

This player/team leader role will carry a personal target alongside a team target. The Business Engagement Team Leader will lead from within the team, coaching and guiding the other team members to enable team success. Working closely with the Marketing Director, Head of Sales and the marketing and sales teams, the individual in this role will lead the way Datel delivers lead generation, innovating and striving for excellence. 

What you'll do

As Business Engagement Team Leader you will lead and be a part of the inside sales function at Datel. You’ll be responsible for how the Business Engagement Consultants identify and qualify opportunities for Datel’s products and services. You’ll demonstrate how to hit targets and maintain quality, whilst striving to always do the right thing by the prospect and Datel.

You’ll inspire, coach and mentor the individuals within the team, encouraging them to progress their skills as an SDR and finding better ways to engage with decision makers when nurturing opportunities. You’ll utilise 20% of your time to develop their skills and assist with queries and reporting on performance. You’ll work with the Marketing Director to contribute to the people management and have opportunities to develop your skills in this area. The rest of the time, you’ll have responsibility for your own target and be focused on generating new opportunities - nurturing and qualifying pipeline to the point where businesses are ready to engage with a sales person to discuss their business software requirements.

With the support of the Marketing Director, you will manage absences, report on performance, motivate and drive the right behaviours, contribute ideas for improvement, and represent lead generation across Datel. You will work closely with the marketing team to ensure that the lead generation and marketing activity are aligned, results from marketing activities are dealt with promptly and that every opportunity for pipeline generation is explored thoroughly. You’ll work with the individuals within the team to develop their skills in telemarketing, social selling, relationship management, event attendance and nurturing of inbound enquiries.

You’ll have well established skills in outreach techniques, active listening, time management and prioritisation. You’ll bring resilience, curiosity and excellent relationship building skills. You’ll be a team player and have the ability to coach and mentor others to success.

This role requires you to be driven to help others succeed and you are expected to bring the benefit of your experience for your colleagues to learn from. You should be passionate about delivering high quality opportunities and determined to support the success of the sales team and business.

We’re looking for someone with a natural ability to sell and build rapport with people at all levels across multiple channels, from over the phone, email and online to face to face at events. You will be a confident and enthusiastic personality and will have a positive impact on the team. Experience in a B2B sales or business development role is essential, with experience of nurturing pipeline through a long sales cycle as a distinct advantage.
