Datel is here to help you make tax digital with Sage
As of 01 April 2019, UK businesses above the VAT threshold of £85,000 will be required to submit VAT returns via accounting software.
That means those businesses won’t be able to submit VAT information manually via the HMRC gateway after that date.
Called 'Making Tax Digital' (MTD), the change is to help UK businesses get their tax right - and recoup the
£9 billion lost annually to tax errors each year.
Digitising tax means you’ll no longer have to provide the same details twice, and gives you a real-time view of your tax. It also makes managing your VAT simpler by keeping your information in one place.
You can find out more about Making Tax Digital on the GOV.UK website.
What can you do to get your business ready for MTD?
Sage has been working closely with HMRC to prepare for the introduction of Making Tax Digital.
As such, Sage has created an MTD submissions module to bring your solution in line with MTD compliance ahead of the deadline, giving your business time to reap the benefits of digitised tax submissions before 01 April 2019.
Datel can provide that module for your Sage Line 500, Sage 1000, Sage 200cloud (Sage 200) and Sage Enterprise Management (Sage X3) solution.
Remember: to be compliant, you must have the module installed with your current Sage software before April 2019.
