Deserved recognition for Datel Founder
Alan Simpson named in national award
5th November 2020
We are excited to announce that Datel Founder, Alan Simpson has been named as one of LDC’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2020.
Conceived by Lloyd’s Development Capital and supported by The Telegraph, the programme aims to identify the exceptional leaders of UK medium-sized companies.
Putting customers’ success first
Alan founded Datel in 1989 alongside Graham Pugh, at a time when affordable technology was just starting to take off. The focus then, and still now, is the success of the customer and finding the solutions that will help them realise their business goals. As the bridge between ever-changing technology and our customers' ambitions, we have become a trusted partner, with some customer relationships spanning over 20 years.
Today, Datel has over 200 employees supporting 1000 customers across the globe, and we have seen some fantastic success stories. As we look toward the future, digital transformation continues to play a vital role in our world and we are ready to support our customers to navigate the challenges ahead.
Alan is pleased to be recognised for being ambitious and to join such an inspirational group of leaders;
“As we go through the current crisis it’s important to remain ambitious and we are proud of where we are as a business. It’s also brilliant to be in such impressive company as some of our customers and software partners have also been named in the top 50 too.”
Marketing Director Emma Pownall has no doubt as to why she nominated Alan. “As we approach the 40th year of trading, it's fantastic that Alan was recognised for the support he continues to provide the team at every level within the business. He continues to focus on what we can do to support customers, employees and partners.”
