Five questions with Zandra Moore, CEO of Panintelligence: “We’re fully focused on developing our product and making it easy to embed in applications”
Zandra Moore, CEO of BI analytics developer and Datel partner Panintelligence, answers questions about her recent award win, the importance of business intelligence, and her company’s solution development philosophy.
1) You were recently crowned CEO of the Year - could you provide some insight into that experience?
I’d only become CEO at the start of the year, so it was a surprise to be nominated. It was also a first for us to be included in the English Women’s Awards. Having a great team behind you certainly enables you and the business to succeed, and I think everyone on awards night said the same thing.
Having only been CEO for a few months, it certainly isn’t just down to me that the business is seeing the growth that it’s currently receiving. All in all, the award was definitely a nice surprise, but it’s definitely more about the people who make up Panintelligence.
2) Why is business intelligence and analytics so important at the moment, and why is the market seeing such growth?
Companies are now dealing with huge volumes of data, and I think what we’re seeing now is people realising just how valuable that data is, whether it’s data in a database, or sensor data – as manufacturing businesses move further towards automation.
Businesses trying to access and use their data are finding it to be more difficult than it perhaps should be. It’s the people within those organisations who can best use that data, so it comes down to accelerating the accessibility of that data, ensuring that it can be accessed by the people who can affect real change – the people that can take those insights and make business decisions.
3) How is Panintelligence different to other pieces of software on the market? What’s the philosophy behind the product and what would you like businesses to achieve with it?
We started life as a finance technology company that built end to end lending systems for big financial intermediaries like banks. In Finance, people have been using data analytics to inform and automate decisions for a long time. We realised that we could take this technology outside the Finance industry and allow a wider audience to benefit from those tools.
Our product has the intelligence to provide data insight, automated decisioning, and predictive modelling, and we’re bringing that to SMEs in sectors such as Education and Healthcare. Those businesses can get the value from this software, which is easy to use, and which doesn’t come with a hefty price tag that other solutions often have.
Our philosophy is to democratise data and bring data analytics to the masses by making it accessible, affordable, and easy to use.
4) What sort of feedback are you getting from your customers?
Overall, the feedback we get is that the software is very intuitive and easy to use, from an end user point of view. One of our key differentiators is that we’re fully focused on developing our product and making it easy to embed in applications, which appeals to software vendors.
Our customers are often impressed with the levels of security the software offers, as well as the ability to integrate, connect to data, and authenticate users in a range of different ways, which sets us apart from other technology vendors in our space.
5) What kind of feedback do you get from your Sage reseller community?
One of our key differentiators in this market is affordability. Other BI and analytics software vendors simply weren’t affordable for these Sage resellers to set up and deploy.
We originally set about creating a self-service business intelligence tool that was pre-configured for Sage 200, so that when they’re switched on, it’s easy to get up and running with a proven data analytics solution. It’s affordable for SMEs and is proportionate to their investment in their own solution.
