Sage Summit: London 2017 - Sage at the forefront of technology
Datel attended and exhibited at Sage’s roadshow event, Sage Summit at the Excel in London on 5th and 6th April. Billed as a ‘must-attend business conference’, the UK arm of the global roadshow did not disappoint. The event was upbeat and a fantastic way to see Sage’s investment in new technologies and its commitment to Sage’s customers and Business Partners.
The first day, exclusively for business partners and accountants, included keynote speeches from Martha Lane Fox and Deborah Meaden. Both women offered very relevant business advice and Martha Lane Fox was truly inspirational. Twitter saw ‘SageSummit’ trending through the keynote as soundbites from the speakers were shared by the audience.

Kriti Sharma, Nick Goode and Jennifer Warawa from Sage all shared technology innovations at the event. Kriti demonstrated the power of Pegg, the first ever accounting voice app, while Nick and Jennifer shared the upcoming roadmaps for Sage’s products including Sage 200 and Sage X3 and talked about the success of Sage Live since its launch. The breakout sessions delivered insight into the future of Sage’s product portfolio with roadmaps being shared, a demonstration of Sage Live, advice for businesses on areas such as GDPR and new additions such as Sage People, to name a few.
The second day was open to customers and those interested in Sage and, alongside another inspirational keynote and breakout agenda, Datel’s team spoke with many businesses considering Sage 200 and Sage X3 on our exhibition stand. There was a real buzz about the event and it was great to meet with so many people either looking to invest in Sage or extend the power of their current solution.

The exhibition space also played host to some very exciting products integrated with Sage’s ERP solutions. Sage People (formerly Fairsail) is a fantastic HCM product. After only a few months it is working well within Datel's own business and we are looking forward to offering it to our current and future customers. Kimble, the leading professional services application on the SalesForce platform, is now integrated to Sage X3 which opens up an exciting vertical market for Datel.
Alan Simpson, Datel’s Executive Chairman attended the event and shared a highlight, “I was invited to a lunch with Sage plc’s Chairman, Donald Brydon. He came over as most astute and is obviously guiding Sage to become a leader, rather than a follower, in technology and innovation. The event as a whole was fantastic and shows Sage is staying at the forefront of technology.”
