Stephenson adopts Sage Enterprise Management to assist in streamlining processes

Stephenson invests in new system to help achieve goals

Stephenson has been a customer of Datel’s for over 15 years. To further amplify its current solution and enable growth, the business has invested in Sage Enterprise Management.

Lucy Bilbrough, Head of ‘Helping People to Make Things Better’ at Stephenson discusses how Sage Enterprise Management will assist the business and will help it to achieve future ambitions.

“Our goal was to find an easily integratable solution that would support our current systems and future business growth,“ said Lucy. She continued “We wanted a system that would assist us with our new focus on personal care and continue to support the people within the company to work more efficiently.”

Founded in 1856, Stephenson is a Leeds-based company, originally manufacturing soap based agents for the processing of wool, along with furniture wax and polish products. Stephenson is now one of the world’s leading suppliers of speciality ingredients. Supported by years of technical expertise, it combines innovation with a flexible approach to deliver tailor made, cost effective, solutions for various specific applications.

The system selection process

“Prior to Sage Enterprise Management we were using an older system by Sage called Line 500. The system had become outdated and it was getting more challenging for users to extract data, therefore impacting our ability to grow.”

“When we went looking for a new system, we had to make sure that it would allow us to measure factory operations and be able to tell us where improvements can be made. One of our ambitions is to double the size of the business while maintaining footprint in the factory as well as employees, therefore we needed something that would support us in doing this.”

“We have built a strong relationship with Datel over the past 15 years and have a lot of confidence in the business to deliver what we need. Datel has always been aware of our requirements and what we want to achieve, therefore Sage Enterprise Management was the logical next step for us.”

The future

“With business growth showing no signs of slowing down, it’s important that our systems are reliable and flexible. We are looking forward to seeing how Sage Enterprise Management will provide the ability for our staff to be accountable for both themselves and the job they are doing.
