Founded in 2005, NEOM specialises in creating fragrances that are 100% natural with true wellbeing benefits: to relieve stress, aid sleep, boost energy or lift your mood. The product range, which spans across home fragrance to bath and body, can be found at their website as well as a handful of standalone stores. The range is also stocked in most large retailers in the UK, including John Lewis and Selfridges, and salons or spas, as well as in high-end stores overseas.
NEOM has grown exponentially over the last few years, as well as having grown in terms of both web success and retail stores. The trend of organic products has become increasingly more popular and mainstream, which has helped the business significantly and contributed to the rise in product sales. NEOM hopes to continue its growth momentum through product innovations as well as international expansion.
It wasn’t until the team was in a strategic planning process for 2020 that they realised the company needed a more robust ERP solution to support its ambitious growth plans. NEOM suffered from slow response times, extra people completing non value adding tasks and lack of efficiency, which restricted its expansion capabilities.
As a growing omni-channel business, NEOM could no longer survive on relatively entry-level systems and needed a new, comprehensive solution that could consolidate its disparate systems into one streamlined platform and support its growing number of transactions internationally. As a result, the company worked closely with the UK's leading Sage Business Partner, Datel, to implement Sage X3 ERP system back in 2017. This solution offers numerous features, bringing business-wide efficiencies to the company in areas such as: finance, CRM, manufacturing, distribution and reporting. Oliver Mennell, CEO at NEOM explains;
“Sage X3 was the most comprehensive and robust of the options we considered for our new ERP solution. A lot of other systems fundamentally do similar things to Sage X3, but what we really liked about Sage X3 was the ease of reporting and its more comprehensive functionalities.”
Following the successful implementation with Datel, NEOM has recently integrated Sage X3 into its new website platform. By integrating this solution, the company has been able to automate its purchasing, payment and reporting procedures by taking drastically reducing the manual processes employees were previously completing, which in turn has increased efficiency and streamlined the platform.
A few months ago, NEOM also adopted Datel’s additional support services to complement its standard support offering, which will further assist the business with its growth. Datel’s support services team acts as an extended member of NEOM, enabling the company to get the best out of the Sage X3 solution. With the continued high-quality support services from Datel, it is able to simplify day-to-day tasks which in turn is benefiting the business with improved efficiency. Stuart Sharp, Finance and Operations Director at NEOM comments;
“We have been extremely pleased with Datel and the support they have offered us as a business, ranging from the implementation process right through to helping us with any challenges that arise on a day to day basis. We have been thrilled with the ease of reporting and the functionality it has offered. NEOM has come a long way in the last few years and we are excited to see how Datel can continue assisting us as we grow, whilst continuing to build a strong relationship.”
NEOM has a bright future ahead with the operational capabilities to continue on an upward trajectory. The company is continuously looking at technology 6-12 months ahead of time. As the company works with Datel to increase automation in all parts of its business, NEOM can look to increase its growth momentum through product innovations and international expansion.
